Speed and Quickness Clinics
Our clinics provide a dynamic atmosphere for youth of all ages to improve their overall athleticism. Specifically, the Hawaii Speed and Quickness Clinics aim to promote health, fitness and self-esteem among the youth of Hawaii through athletics; teach kids to reach their potential through athletics and other recreational endeavors; and increase speed and quickness, as well as agility and jumping ability. We make these goals possible by providing the best coaches, facilities and equipment.
These components are vital to being successful in any sport and provide the framework to be a great athlete. In addition, youth have access to mentoring from the Hawaii Speed & Quickness staff and we are passionate in delivering a strong message about staying drug and alcohol free and achieving academically as well as athletically.
Our clinics are divided into 2 divisions: (A) Keiki Division; Ages 5-8, (B) Youth Division; Ages 9-13.
Our Speed and Quickness Clinics made possible from the generosity of our major corporate sponsors:
Jamba Juice, Chevron, Jack in the Box, and University of Antelope Valley
Our biggest camp is the Hawaii football camp on Oahu, but we also bring sports like volleyball, soccer, basketball, football, cheerleading and baseball across the islands. The mission of this program is to bring these camps with elite University of Hawaii coaches and student athletes to the outer islands. We want to expose these areas to the highest level of coaching and play and allow the athletes to deliver positive messages and encouragement to the youth of Hawaii. Our staff makes it a priority to be positive role models and to provide mentoring services to any and all youth. Hawaii Speed and Quickness makes it a main concern to offer these services free of charge, thus making them more accessible to outer island youth that normally couldn’t afford to participate is these kinds of activities or travel to Oahu. Check the schedule page for upcoming clinics and camps.

Refuse to Use and Refuse to Lose
The Refuse to Use and Refuse to Lose Program is a comprehensive program that utilizes the prevention strategies to target specific subsets of the total population that are deemed to be more at-risk than the general population. In this program, our goal is to use athletics, mentoring and proven curriculum as an effective tool in substance use prevention and intervention for youth and families. Group mentoring and health and fitness activities that create a sense of belonging, increase physical confidence and self-esteem are effective strategies for preventing substance abuse and reducing delinquent attitudes and anti-social behaviors by expanding opportunities and alternatives for legitimate success available to youth during non-school hours.
The schools that currently offer our program are:
- Maui High
- Baldwin High
- Kapaa High
- Lahainaluna Intermediate
- Lahainaluna High
Division Three: Refuse to Use and Refuse to Lose program is funded by the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division, and HMSA Foundation.
